چکیده

Nanostructures called hybrid polyion complexes (HPICs) are formed by adding metal ions to a solution of double-hydrophilic block copolymer, leading the spontaneous formation highly monodisperse nano-objects. In this paper, we propose simple strategy based on mixture ions: one chosen achieve high chemical stability nano-objects and second included provide desired property nanostructure. Using poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(acrylic acid) as zirconium ion, added ZrO2+, was selected ensure strong interactions with polymers reinforce HPIC architecture. The zirconyl were combined lanthanide ions, which often used in contrast agents for proton-magnetic resonance imaging. Mixing two copolymer led an average radius ca 11–16 nm. Increasing mole fraction inside HPICs leads excellent Unexpectedly, when paired Gd3+, mixed exhibits greatly enhanced magnetic relaxivity relatively single-ion Gd3+ HPIC, increases. This behavior further studied nuclear relaxation dispersion. resulting good biocompatibility. addition, there is significant potential extending platform other areas study.

New gadolinium complexes as magnetic resonance imaging--contrast agents.

We have investigated the physicochemical and paramagnetic properties of the new gadolinium complexes of N-(pyrid-2-yl-methyl)-ethylenediamine-N,N,N-triacetic acid (Gd-PEDTA) and N-tris(2-aminoethyl)amine-N,N,N,N,N,N+hexaacetic acid(Gd-TTAHA). The relaxivities as well as the thermodynamic and conditional stability constants of these complexes with respect to the physiological relevance were dete...

[Gadolinium-based contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging].

Gadolinium-based contrast agents are increasingly being used in magnetic resonance imaging. These agents can improve the contrast in images and provide information about function and metabolism, increasing both sensitivity and specificity. We describe the gadolinium-based contrast agents that have been approved for clinical use, detailing their main characteristics based on their chemical struc...

Gadolinium Endohedral Metallofullerenes for Future Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast Agents

Gadolinium endohedral metallofullerenes (EMFs) have shown the potential to become next generation magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents due to their significantly improved efficiency and safety, as well as multi-day body retention which allows for a longer surgery and observation compared to current contrast agents. In Chapter 1, I have reviewed the development of gadolinium EMF base...

Gadolinium-Diethylenetriaminepenta-Acetic acid Conjugated with Monoclonal Antibody C595 as New Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast Agents for Breast Cancer (MCF-7) Detection

Background: The monoclonal antibody, C595, against breast cancer cell line was conjugated with cyclic anhydride gadolinium-diethylenetriaminepenta-acetic acid (Gd-cDTPAa) to produce Gd-DTPA-C595 and used as specific breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  Methods: After incubation of breast cancer cell line (MCF-7), with different contrast agents (G...

Use of Gadolinium Chloride as a Contrast Agent for Imaging Spruce Knots by Magnetic Resonance

Treatments of knot-containing spruce wood blocks with a paramagnetic salt, gadolinium (III) chloride, in combination with solvent pretreatments, were evaluated as strategies to enhance the visualization of wood features by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Initial experiments with clear wood and excised knot samples showed differences in moisture uptake after pretreatments with selected solvent...
